First Presbyterian - Finish Line to the 40th RunWe invite you, your family, and friends out to take part in our first annual run & walk at beautiful Wright Park! When? Saturday, May 22, 2010 Where? Wright Park, Tacoma, WA Early Packet pick-up: After school at FPCS on Friday, May 21. Race schedule:
Three different run options for you to participate in! - The 1 Mile Run is open to everybody, but recommended for Grades 5 and under. Parents are more than welcome to run along with their kids for free as a "warm-up" for their own 5k run! The 1 Mile Run takes participants on a full loops along mostly the outside trail of the park. All participants will receive an award upon completion of their run! - The 5k Run / Walk is, again, open to everybody, but because of the limited width of the trails we are going to have to cap participation at 125. So, sign up early! The 5k Run / Walk will take participants on Two 2500 meter loops around the park. It will be the same as the home course for the Stadium HS cross country team, and was for many years the course for the Narrows League Cross Country Championships! All participants will receive a unique T-shirt with artwork on the front to be designed by a contest winner from our school! *Due to the size of the park and width of the trails, we are going to "cap" participation at around 125 runners/walkers so sign up early to ensure your spot in the event! Also, if you are a walker you will need to watch out and stay to the right as runners may be passing you on their second loop. - The "Kids Dash" will be a series of mini-races ranging from a stumble across the grass for the little ones, up to a dash around the pond (apx. 1/4 mile loop) at the park! All participants will receive an award upon completion of their run! While the "dash" is free, it does NOT come with a T-shirt. If you would like to purchase one for a participant, you can do so to the right for $7. Registration: Registration will be online only. It will open on April 18th and be available through the Thursday before the run (May 20th).
We hope to see you out in the park on Saturday, May 22nd! Questions or comments? Contact Nadine Kohler - NKohler@fpcschool.org |
