Tinker Half Marathon
Saturday July 13, 2019
Bolstad Approach Long Beach, WA
Come run this beautiful course along Discovery Trail on the hard pack beach. Learn about the history of this great beach community.
Long Beach began when Henry Harrison Tinker bought a land claim from Charles E. Reed in 1880. He platted the town and called it Tinkerville. Long Beach was officiallly incorporated on January 18, 1922.
Runners looking for a real change of pace from urban runs will be hard pressed to find one that's more unlike a big-city half marathon, as the Beach to Chowder race takes participants on a route that's run mostly along the shores of Long Beach. This race begins at the area known as the Long Beach arch, and follows a winding out-and-back race that starts out taking runners northward toward the area's North Trail Head, by the condominiums known as the Breaker's Condos.
