Join us for the 45th Annual Fowl Fun Run on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 10 am starting at Mount Vernon Christian School in Mount Vernon, WA. We are excited to offer indoor staging for the 2023 event! We offer two distances: a 5K run/walk and a 10K run. Both courses are USATF-certified and are run on flat, low-traffic farm roads in the Skagit Valley. Stay for food, refreshments and for the opportunity to win a pumpkin pie!
The half-mile kids' run for those 8 years and under starts promptly at 9:15 a.m. This fun run is free, but children must be registered in person by 9:00 a.m.
Please arrive early if you plan to register on the morning of the race. We will not hold up the race start to wait for late arrivals. If you arrive after 9:30 a.m. and try to sign up for the run, you may miss the official start. Registration will be available online until noon the Thursday before the race (November 9) and Skagit Running Company will also be accepting registrations until noon on Thursday, so please pre-register!
Pre-registered participants may pick up their bib numbers starting at 8:25 a.m. on race morning.
Food, refreshments and awards will be available after the race.
For awards purposes, the age divisions are 6 and under, 7-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over. The age divisions will be the same for both the 10K and the 5K.
Awards will be given to the overall male and female winners in both races. The top 3 finishers in each age division will receive ribbons. Instead of handing out awards outside after the race, we will be mailing all age-group awards this year. Finishing position for awards is determined by gun time, not chip time.
Tom Turkey will be starting the 10K five minutes after the gun. Finish the 10K ahead of him and receive a special award at the finish line!
