I started running at UCLA in the early 70's and became a member of the UCLA cross-country and track team for 2 years. I was the 7th fastest female for the 50K in the US in 1977 with a time of 5:20. I ran Boston in 2006. I have run 29 marathons and 6 ultra marathons. I am a mother to 9 children - 5 boys and 4 girls. I teach Kindergarten in Encinitas unified and have my students run a half mile each day.
