COURSE DESCRIPTION
WLA hosts a Fun Run/Walk in the beautiful
coastal town of Westport. The scenic, flat course
starts and finishes at the historic Westport
Maritime Museum over-looking Grays Harbor.
Runners and walkers travel the paved
Westport Dune Trail through Westhaven State
Park. The unique course passes Grays Harbor
Lighthouse and finish next to the museum lens
exhibit building home of the magnificent 1st
Order Destruction Island Lighthouse Lens. Come
spend the weekend in Westport and climb
Washington's tallest lighthouse!
AWARDS 12PM
There are unique lighthouse themed awards to
overall winners. Ribbons are handed out 3 deep
in each 5 year age division. Every participant
receives a unique Finisher pin. Post Race Raffle.
WLA MISSION STATEMENT
The Washington Lightkeepers Associations
dedicated to the rehabilitation, restoration,
preservation, and perpetuation of
Washington's lighthouses and lightships, as
well as their history and lore.
¥ WLA will organize and implement events and
activities to celebrate the stateÕs lighthouse
heritage and will share and disseminate a
collective knowledge on a wide range of
lighthouse education and preservation topics.
RACE DETAILS
In 2009, the 4th annual R4L saw a record attendance,
with over 150 toeing the starting line. 15-year old
Jacob Smith crushed all-comers while establishing
a new course record (27:28). We look forward to you
joining us for the 5th edition of our event!
