Nice Trail Upgrade in Federal Way
On a weekly basis I usually run on the Interurban Trail in Federal Way near Celebration Park. On my last run there, to my surprise the trail had been improved. There used to be tons of the scotch broom on either side of the paved trail and the dirt trail, but they must have taken a tractor and cut down most of it. This will make the trail safer and much more enjoyable to runners/walkers, not to have to taste that nasty plant while it is blooming.
I usually go up to the Interurban Trail because I like running with the Interurban Running Club. They have lots of good events including a 5k series starting in May, once a month with each race scheduled on a Wednesday. It is a great way to do a speed workout during the week and they pretty much give away the race.
Anyway if you haven’t run on that trail between Celebration Park and the Aquatic Center, you should try it out again, you will be pleased.
